The band and crew at Hollywood Alley in Mesa AZ.

Lock up your daughters. Hide the car keys. Call your friends a cab for fuck's sake! We came for the whiskey, some trouble and a good time......or maybe just to escape our sorrows. A FEW RANDOM DRUNKS are here. A Few Random Drunks is what came to be when (frontman) Josh Preston & (bass player) Parker Hall-Ritchie decided to form a band back in March of 2003. Preston had slight, pryor experience as a rhythm guitar player in the short lived, mildly successful alt/punk band "Los Banos" (1998-2000) Hall-Ritchie had been a cello player, but no pryor bass guitar, or rock band experience. The two wrote & rehearsed together for months, Preston on lead vocals and rhythm guitar & Hall-Ritchie on bass guitar. Several lead guitar players came & went from March of 2003 - June of 2005 as the trio began playing gigs all over Maricopa County AZ, before finally settling on Les Paul wielding Cliff C. Hockersmith, in June of 2005. You might reconize Cliff as the bassist of The Roaming Ambassadors of Good Will, another Tempe AZ based band. Most recently, Mr. Freddy "Elder Shmelder" G. joined A Few Random Drunks, finally providing the missing ingrediant... drums. Freddy G. might look familar to you as well. Mr. G. is also the drummer of the valley punk band, The Elders UK. A Few Random Drunks has opened for The Elders UK on many occausions in the past. These very shows are where The Drunks and "Elder Shmelder" met. Freddy G. is an awesome drummer with an amazing amount of talent and character. A Few Random Drunks' songs are a mellow-rock, sometimes mildly twangy sound with a mildly punk-a-billy twist and solid lyrics of lost love, booze, heartbreak, sorrow and just being a misfit or drunken screw-up. Preston delivers his stories with an un-apologetic, honest sincerity that is hard to come by these days. Parker Hall-Ritchie provides a solid back-bone on his five string bass, Cliff Hockersmith's lead guitar is amazing and shines from many different styles and genres, but explodes with a rock-a-billy approach that is truely amazing and fun to watch live. With a modern/classic/punk/ country-rock feel, this band is blended of the most real, down to earth, down on luck, lost souls of raw talent you can hope to find on one stage. Four men who have accidently stumbled into eachother to form A FEW RANDOM DRUNKS. The four play as A FEW RANDOM DRUNKS all over the Maricopa County bar & club scene. The Drunks often do showcases, with a special guest or two joining them on stage. For show dates, look for A FEW RANDOM DRUNKS on the website or check "The Phoenix Newtimes". DON'T LET OUR GOOD LOOKS FOOL YOU. WE ARE FIREBALLS NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH! ...Salud!
